It is nothing like the cheap hijacked "gf" of today that will rub off and look cheap in no time. It's said that this old vintage 12k gf is equivalent to buying solid 10k these days. This is actually an alloy that is harder than the solid karats and it stays looking like the real deal for so long because there is a nice thick layer of 12k gold over the alloy. You can wear it side by side with your solid karats and it looks like the solid karats. I have quite a collection between mine and my sweet mom's collection. I'll be listing many more as well as many beautiful pieces from her estate. Lots of 14k items mostly with semi precious stones and quite a few opal pieces.
