VINTAGE—Knitted 8” Betsy McCall Clothes + Copied 1963 McCall’s Instructions

NOTE: I cannot tell if they are vintage or newly made (probably not old). The excellent craftsmanship[ and type of yarn/thread used is identical, so I am guessing they were made by the same person at the same time.I imagine that these clothing items are difficult items to find! I cannot find any issues on either dress—clean with no damage/no issues. Both have shiny silver, small round metal snaps. The green and white dress is called ‘knit dress with pockets, collar, fits 8 ½” Betsy MCCall.’ The pink dress has sparkles integrated in the tiny yarn and is noted in the instructions as, ‘Shimmery white party dress, red rose applique’ (bought), fits 8 ½” Betsy McCall.’ There is no decoration applied to the dress in this auction.NOTE: When I was dressing the dolls as models, I found that the sleeve openings of the pink dress are not very wide. I had to be very careful not to catch the tiny yarn between her fingers! I would not think that a child would be very successful dressing their Betsy in this dress.Also included are 5 pages that I copied from the 1963 McCall’s Christmas Make-It Ideas- Volume VI (6). I only included copies of the pages that have instructions for the 2 dresses that fit the Betsy doll. If the winning Bidder wants a complete set of the instructions to make the clothes for the other dolls pictured, please let me know and I will copy and include them also. NOTE: I have discovered that monitors may show pictures differently than those posted from the Seller's computer—even the tilt of the monitor makes a difference. Therefore, you can rely on the description to be a very good indication of the condition of the items in this outfit and use the pictures as a support, realizing that the darkening of some of the white items may be different than you see on your monitor. *** The pieces of these items came to me through ebay. I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odors on them, but I cannot guarantee what environments they came from. In my opinion, this handmade set and copy of instructions will make a nice addition to your collection—just as they did for mine.*** Please e-mail any questions before you bid.
