Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! This set of old medicine bottles is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end auction house or antique shop. We have been selling items out of our home for over 35 years. We are therefore better positioned to control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the high end auction houses and galleries experience. Beautiful set of what appear to be old medicine bottles of the quack or apothecary variety. The brown or amber glass one with the topper on the metal holder is very nice. Lots of bubbling in the glass. No maker or product markings on the bottle. Top of bottle is intact, no chipping or cracking. An embossed "S" on the bottom of the bottle. The bottle is 8" tall, about 8-58" with the topper in place. 3.5" across at the bottom and 4" across at the top. The stopper no longer goes down into the opening of the bottle. The stopper and metal holder mechanism being in place really adds to the look and value of this bottle. The green glass bottle is from "Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery" embossed on the front. Then RV Pierce and Buffalo, NY embossed on the other side. Number "22" embossed on the bottom of the bottle. This bottle certainly could use some further cleaning. Looks to be an unearthed one from the ground. Top is still intact, no cracking or chipping. Just under the top, there appears to be a hairline that runs about 1/2 way around. Does not show on the inside neck of the bottle. The bottle is 8-5/16" tall, by 3" across. The other brown or amber glass bottle has "Warner's Safe Kidney & Liver Cure" embossed on the front of the bottle. Also notes that came from Rochester, NY. A design of an old safe on wheels also embossed on the front of the bottle. A couple of minor chips along the top lip of the bottle. The bottle is 9.5" tall, and 3-9/16" across. All three bottles show surface scratching from age and storage. Other items that can be seen in the pictures are not offered, just the advertising bottle described here.
