Description: Vintage Military Trench Art. Not certain of time period of conflict or nationality. Appears to be an artillery shell converted into a copper vase. There are no markings or primer in the base. No markings anywhere on the vase. In fact, it could be non-military copper "tramp-art. There is no seam running top to bottom. Hammered copper cylinder about 3 1/2" diameter base with a rimmed base and about 7 1/2" tall. The top rim of vase is flared with a couple small splits in the copper. A very heavy piece, in our experience with shell art, weighing about 2 1/2 pounds. Possibly molten lead poured in base? Not cleaned up in any way, vintage patina. Estate buy and in our storage for at least 15-20 years. See photos.
