Description: Vintage Wooden Smoothing Plane “ Northern “ By I Sorby 2 1/8" wide Cutter An unusual "survivor" wooden smoothing plane which looks like it has seen very little use.See pictutres for details - size 8" long and 3" wide with a 2 1/8" wide cutter that looks to be full lengthfully marked with the sorby "Mr Punch" logo and "I T Sorby Sheffield" in a zig zag border.The plane has the paper label attached to one side that is about 90% intact it reads as follows:"Northern Planes - British Throughout - I Sorby Sheffield" Could maybe do with a gentle clean and polish but there is NO damage or repair to note. The plane itself is also marked on the front - "I Sorby - Northern Sheffield England" From my researches online it would appear that these "Northern Planes" were manufactured during theinterwar years approx 1920-1935.
