Description: This beautiful Vintage statue of the Virgin Mary Mother of God is made of Italian alabaster and Carrera marble. Author: G. Ruggeri. This piece was made in Italy from a mixture of alabaster and resin using a technique that G. Ruggeri and several other artists developed in the 1930s. This process makes the parts more durable and waterproof.The statue is beautifully detailed in its carvings and on the reverse side is a depiction of G. R. dedicated to G. Ruggeri. This is truly a work of art.Dimensions: 2 3/4" wide, 2" deep, 5 1/4" tall. Ivory in color and has a wonderful patina.The condition is very good, although there are two small chips located along the edge of the head cape and indicated in the photo in the description.For complete information, please look carefully at the photographs in addition to my description.
