Description: Early 20th century articulated locomotive raised up on a Whiting Corp hoist. The caption on the back reads: Whiting 300-ton capacity, 6-Jack locomotive hoist of the pitless type, raising an articulated locomotive. Individually motored each jack has a hoisting speed of 11” per min. Six 10-h.p. motors are used. Steel frame work if for the building for housing the hoist. Unfortunately there’s no date given, or location. These photos are from a personal collection and all have Whiting Corp manufacturing as the original intended subject. They are all also truly fantastic railroad related photos from the early and mid 20th century. They all have varying degrees of aging to them including pin holes, markings and other wear and tear. Please zoom in and examine them carefully. If you have any questions please ask. As more pictures are listed feel free to make offers or send a list with the picture identification numbers so I can pull and create a specific listing just for that transaction to avoid any confusion about shipping— it will be one rate priority shipping in whatever package fits best. As it will take awhile to list all of the available photos, returning customers will be treated as though all purchases have combined shipping (n other words, you’ll only pay for shipping once).
