Description: This scarce, enamel sign for "The Bristol Piano Co. Ltd" dates from around 1920 and is in "as found" condition. "The Bristol Piano Co. Ltd." changed its' name from the "Dresden Pianoforte Manufacturing Agency and Company" around 1916, it was originally formed in New Zealand around 1883. The sign has the losses to the metal and enamel nibbles round the edges and mounting holes, there are also some areas of loss to the body. The central image of the piano would have originally has been a wood effect brown colour, this has faded to red and orange over the years. There are also scratches, scuffs, staining and fading in places, but for the most part the colours do have a fair depth to them. We have tried to show the condition in the photographs. It measures 99 cm (39 inches) wide and 63.5 cm (25 inches) high. This rare sign will still display well. Please be aware that customs or import duties may apply. Vintage The Bristol Piano Co.
