VINTAGE STEUBEN IVRENE OR CALCITE WHITE RUFFLED ART GLASS VASE SHAPE 354 8" TALL

Description: Steuben Art Glass Vase Description and Item Information Up for sale is this old Steuben art glass vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This is shape 354, which has a flared and ruffled rim. The piece is either ivrene or calcite glass, but I'm not sure which. It is white with an iridescent luster. This vase stands approximately 8 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 9 7/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 11.6 ounces. Beneath, there is a central ground and polished pontil. This would be a lovely addition to a collection of Carder era Steuben art glass, or to a collection of American art glass in general. Identification The vase is Steuben glass from Corning, New York. Beneath, there is a engraved marking, "Steuben," which is nearly obliterated by the wear scratches to the underside of the vase (please see Photo 4). This piece is vintage or antique, but the exact age is not known. It is shape number 354, which came in several sizes. Condition The vase has no chips or cracks. It has some fine, scattered scratches here or there to the sides and interior. The base has lots of wear scratches, as expected for old glass. There is a small dark mark to the lower side, as found (please see Photo 6). There are some faint dark spots to the interior (please see Photo 7).
