Description: Vintage, Excellent Condition and all original , A Vintage Stanley Bailey No 3 petite size smoothing plane. It is approx 8 inches long with a blade width of 1-3/4 inches. It has the features of a type 16 making the manufacture date between 1933 to 1941 about 90 years ago. Metal bed and all other metal parts are excellent, no cracks breaks, or repairs. I placed a straight edge along the sole and it appears perfectly straight, no warping, see photo. Black jappaning finish is great more than 90 percent. The premium Brazilian Rosewood handles are beautiful, the rear tote had a repair about midway but is tight and firm. The front knob is great, no breaks chips or cracks. The blade is original notched logo, it is nearly full length and has been freshly sharpened with the correct 25 degree bevel. The chip breaker edge has been flattened where is meets up with the blade, see last photo. This plane has the important frog adjustment screw and All adjustments move and work smoothly.
