Description: Recently serviced Vintage Kodak 35, ready for film. This is Kodak's first U.S. made 35mm camera and has the Anastigmat Special 50mm f/3.5 lens. This is the first version of this camera which dates it to around 1938. I've serviced many of these in the past, they are getting harder to find in this condition. Shutter now fires at all speeds and sounds accurate, lens cleaned up well, focus is now smooth, self timer works flawlessly. The strap rings are not original. The top shutter cover guard is missing but that will not impede the proper function of the camera. It's only a cover to help prevent accidental firing of the shutter. Note; The front focusing element of the Anastigmat Special lenses are always (notoriously) heavily fogged and not always serviceable. This one cleaned up well to my surprise but still has a "minimal" amount of haze, you should still get decent images. Rare in this condition. I'll be listing other versions of this camera as time goes by so check out what I have listed when you get a chance. This camera has a particular way of loading the film, advancing the film, taking the shot and rewinding the film. It is advised that you find an Owners Manual pdf file online and study it well before using. Once you get used to it I think you'll get a kick out of using this camera. A piece of history. This one is a nice example. This shutter system has the self timer. Make sure you have the shutter cocked first before setting the timer and be careful not to touch the shutter button until you're ready or you'll set the timer in motion, you can't stop it after that. Any questions feel free to ask.
