Description: This is a nice vintage set consisting of a wooden rack, salt and pepper shakers and a grease jar. The shakers are decorated with a rooster on the front and the grease container has a floral motif and a handle on the front for removing it from the rack. The set measures approximately 7 1/2" tall, 7" wide at the widest part of the base, and 3 1/2" deep at the center of the bottom of the rack. There is overall crazing on the pieces. There is a very small chip on the bottom left corner of the salt shaker and a very small chip on the grease container near the bottom of the right side. I cannot tell if this is actually a chip or a manufacturing defect. In that same area, there is a slight indentation which would be from manufacturing. I do not find any of these things distracting and they are noticeable only upon close inspection. Both shakers still have cork stoppers in the bottom and the grease jar is very clean. I do not think it was ever used to hold grease. The bottom shelf of the rack is slightly loose and there is a small gap between the front and back pieces along the bottom on one side. There is tape residue on all the pieces. The original paper label is affixed to the back of the rack and reads "Product of Shafford, Japan". Overall, a very nice set to add to any spice rack or salt and pepper collection.
