Featuring a beautiful vignette of a woman in period gown against a castle backdrop, tin was once filled with RILEY'S TOFFEE, Made in England. Loosely based on the 19th century story of heiress Dorothy Vernon, daughter of Sir Richard de Vernon who eloped with her lover while guests were being entertained within the gallery. Legend has been made into novels, works of fiction and even movies. Condition is very nice with minor scuffing, scratching and usage wear as shown - label is faded and top edges are rubbed - hinge works great and interior is clean. I've always used this to hold my buttons - the flat size kept them from rattling around too much and allowed me to find them easily.
