Description: Located in Houston, Texas 77017 and available only for local pickup. This is a "restoration project" that I no longer have the time / ability to take on. Vintage Preway fireplace, likely the model made for Sears (late 1960s-early 1970s), as featured in Sears catalogs. This one is unique because the fireplace includes a built-in electric heater heater (works) and the light and motor that rotates a cylinder to simulate "wood burning" (works). Vintage and fun. Appears heater could be removed and rest of unit could be used as fireplace, but you'd need to do some retrofit to the floor of the firebox. See the photos to see how the heater appears versus the rest of the body. The finish is original but needs restoration. There's a large visible dent in one side. I included photos of the dent and also a ding in the flue pipe. Flue pipe has the ceiling escutcheon. I think this was only used as an electric heater, likely in a den or bedroom. The firescreen and base are surface rusty and need restoration. The unit sits on 3 legs, with the rear leg stable, but needing a fastener to sit sturdy. (The leg wants to flip out of position when picking up the unit, but tucks in place when setting it back down) In short, this is a great "project piece", not something ready to use. The "lifestyle" image from the vintage magazine is not the actual unit or precise configuration, but provides a sense of the general look if restored. A great focal point to a vintage room. Message with any questions.
