Description: This listing is for the Antenna rotor controller only. Any test equipment, or other junk in the pictures is not part of this listing. What is it: In the olden days, we got TV from a cable that came out of the wall. In the ancient days, we got TV from the sky! The Sky! (Really!) And it was not in color. (Put that beverage down before you spill it all over yourself). There are even rumors that the TV screens were circular, but only members of the Flat Earth Society would believe that. Back to the sky, there was a device that looked like a really wide rake (device used in the olden days before leaf blowers, ask your Grandparents) and it was mounted on the roof of a house on a pole. When enough TV stations were built, people would have to climb up on the roof and manually rotate the antenna for best reception. Eventually, some enterprising individual figured out that if you put a motor on the antenna pole and wire up a switch to rotate it, you could save the trip up to the roof. This is the control box to rotate that rake shaped thing. Condition: This was found in one of the many random boxes of junk from a closed TV shop. The shell is bakelite and it has some scratches and scuffs. I gave it a basic cleaning and it will shine up nicely, but I will let the next owner decide how they want to do that as everyone has their cleaning products they prefer. The important part is that it is not cracked This rotor controller was likely part of a set and the motor and other things are not present. This would make the perfect gift for a TV collector, Bakeilite radio collector, or conversation piece on the bar shelf. It may also be useful to a ham radio operator, especially an Elmer, who needs a motor controller and doesn't want to use something that can be found just anywhere. Untested notes: I've not tested it as of today, check back on this listing next week, no one wants items like this and I am sure it will be available due to the size of the box needed (and the cost to ship) to ensure the Bakelite shell ends up at its destination in one piece. No returns: Due to the age and nature of this item, it is being sold as-is with no returns. Shipping: Shipping within the United States is via FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. Yes, the shipping is probably going to cost as much or more than the item itself. To ensure the Bakelite shell ends up at its destination in one piece, I am double boxing it. The truth is that no one is probably going to buy this item, but I have the unit in the two boxes and will wrap it properly with plenty of small bubble bubble wrap if someone does buy it. Local pick-up is always an option. I will only ship internationally through eBay Global Shipping Program. International buyers are responsible for international postage, import duties, taxes, etc. Please do not ask for other international shipping options (they may be less expensive, but they take too long), or marking the item as "gift". I will not respond.
