Kaltenborn" Dimensions: 8.5 x 10 inches Condition: Good Hans von Kaltenborn-Stachau was a Prussian general officer and member of the nobility who served as Prussian Minister of War for three years. He began his military service in 1854 as a 2nd Lieutenant in an infantry regiment and later participated in the Second Schleswig War of 1864 (Deutsch-Dänischer Krieg). Kaltenborn-Stachau then saw action as a captain and general staff officer in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 (Deutscher Krieg). At the rank of major, he was then engaged in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71 (Deutsch-Französischer Krieg). August von Kleist (August Christoph Viktor von Kleist, February 19, 1818 - May 14, 1890) was a Prussian Major General. Sons Erwin von Kleist and Alfred von Kleist, also Prussian Generals.
