Description: Vintage Pfleuger Alpine 2659 level-wind reel in fair condition. Reel has been bench tested and appears to be mechanically sound. I have not field tested reel. Item shows considerable wear but is intact and solid. This reel is VERY heavily built. Much of reel appears to be constructed of brass and there is a fair amount of patina. Reel has lots of spots, scruffs, scratches, and dings. The thinner side plate (opposite crank) has some dents (see photos #7-9). Retrieve is smooth and line guide travels back & forth properly. Retrieve choices are "click" or "quiet" and the switch between the two works correctly. There doesn't appear to be any anti-reverse. Reel likely needs cleaned & serviced. All hardware appears to be in place-no missing fasteners. Outside of reel spool measures approx 4" in dia.
