Vintage Penn Peerless #9 Level Wind Conventional Reel – Dark Burgundy Side Plates EXCELLENT Up for sale is a DARK used Penn Peerless #9 level wind reel. This reel looks GREAT and WORKS CORRECTLY. Look at the side plates that still shine. The level wind mechanism works well, the line guide moves back and forth freely with no slippage at all. The clicker functions properly, the star drag is in working order, the eccentric lever releases correctly and the spool spins freely when disengaged. The non-handle side bearing works properly, the spool is in great condition, the side plates are free of cracks, and the stand is sound. This reel has dark burgundy side plates that still shine. The reel does have some boat rash on the top of the foot that is inside of the reel. The reel has minor scratches on the chrome parts. The handle and the knob look great; I love the marbleized yellow knob. The knob is very sturdy with no play at all. This reel is in GREAT condition; it looks great and operates WELL.
