And the paper cutting, well, that came from cutting out food items and other "life-sized" products from magazines. So my sister and I could play "Restaurant." As my fingers grew more nimble, my scissor skills improved. I also saw that so many "old" books and magazines were considered of no value once they had an imperfection, such as a missing cover. That's when I gave myself permission. To dismantle. Disassemble. Shred. And Tear. To actually Use and Honor the paper that has come before us. I've met people who swear they could never cut up a BOOK! But I am telling you. Not a page goes to waste. And I learn and ingest more understanding than I ever could by not doing it. I also thrill to curate each pack. It is fascinating to notice how shades change and shift. That they include multitudes of tints and hues. You will receive a wealth of carefully cut images. They will include items from antique to newer papers. I am careful that this is not your average big box craft store pack. These have a lot of originality and zest.I've also added a lot of images from vintage textile pattern books. I find them very useful in creating effective and instant backgrounds. These kits may contain images from books that may be more contemporary or classics that have copyrighted material within them.
