This handsome sterling silver cuff is marked on the inside with the designer's trademark: "ORB." Bade launched his own line of modernist pieces in 1958 after working with legendary jewelry designer Frank Rebajes in New York for many years and his pieces from that era are marked with his trademark ORB, the designer's initials. The bracelet was a gift to me from a favorite art-collecting aunt in the 1960s and has not been worn in the last thirty or forty years though carefully stored in protective tarnish retardant Pacific Cloth since that time. The surface has tiny scratches consistent with age and use, although the terrific style of the piece is as stunning as always and retains its value as an impressive piece of vintage jewelry design from a famous designer that is an art form in itself.
