This painting depicts a nebulous and chunk lyrical abstraction, of geometric shapes, organically rendered forms, and is hued in shades of red, deep brown, and burnt umber. The color palette and style of this work is reminiscent of Japanese modernist painter, Key Sato (1906 - 1978.) Approximately 33 1/4 x 39 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual visible artwork is approximately 23 1/2 x 29 1/2 inches. Very good condition for age, with some light scuffing and edge wear to the original period wooden frame (please see photos.)
