Description: 10"This vintage magazine is a must-have for collectors of literature and fiction works. The hardcover binding adds to its antique charm, making it a great addition to any bookshelf. Published by Harper & Brothers in New York, this original copy from 1879 contains issues from June to November of that year. Condition is weathered but intact. Hinges show cracks but still hold strong and work. No missing or loose pages. The real leather exterior shows that it's nearly 150 years old, with seperation at the base of the spine covering and edges of the boards. Again though, the covers are still very functionally attached to the binding. Pages have some age-related browning and some moisture stains, though no notable warping nor any smells other than what you'd expect from a book of this vintage. The leather does have a nice aging to it and the covers are elegant hand-marbled boards. Typically booksellers would choose from several versions of hardcovers, from economy to deluxe. This would have been deluxe. Relatively heavy paperstock too. Not a museum piece, but a high-end antique with patina and character. 10" x 7", 960 pages.
