Add to your lithographed tin collection or decorate for Halloween, Easter and other holidays. Such a fun retro basket! Charming characters include Little Bo Peep, The Cat and The Fiddle, and Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater. The colorful characters are repeated twice on a bright yellow background with green details that are meant to look like a woven basket (...a tisket, a tasket a green and yellow basket...). Please see photos. Condition: Very good used vintage condition. Clean. There is wear as can be seen in the photos. Color is vibrant. Handle works well. Some chipped paint in the bottom of the basket (inside) as well as on the base (outside). Minor wear on the rim. Lithograph in excellent condition. *A littte more:J. Chein & Company, was founded by Julius Chein in a New York City loft, and was an American toy manufacturer in business from 1903 through the 1980s. It is best remembered today for its mechanical toys made from stamped and lithographed tin produced from the 1930s through the 1950s. Their earliest toy production was for the Cracker Jacks snack. During WWII they stopped making toys and instead produced nosecones and tail units for bombs and casings for incendiary devices.
