Description: This is a handsome brown leather box is embossed in gold swirls and scrolls. It has a green raw silk lined interior. The square shape give real flexibility to the uses of this box. Large enough for bracelets and necklaces or several pieces of jewelry for safekeeping. I believe this box to be Italian made between the 1920’s to 1950. This is a really pretty box with some wear do to age but even that wear adds to its charm. The hinged bronze clasp is decorated and the folding part fits over a button to stay securely shut. There is additional decoration around all sides of the box which look like a dark scrolling line. I think it could be burnt into the leather. Condition: excellent for age and normal wear. Measurements: 3 10/16 inches square x 1 3/4 inches tall. Origin: Italy Circa: 1920-1940’s
