Description: This listing is for a Fontanini paper mache Mary, the mother of Jesus, in a kneeling position. It was made in Italy, somewhere between the 40s and the 60s. It is in very good condition except that the base has been cracked and glued. There is also a chip on the back side of her headpiece and one on the hem of her robe. See photos for close-up.It is considered 12 inch scale, and measures 9.5 inches high.It came from the same set as my other 12” scale Italian pieces, and it appears to be the same sculptor (Simonetti), but is not signed. PLEASE NOTE: I am currently currently listing companion pieces to this Fontanini set. I have no problem combining shipping, but would prefer to only put two or possibly three pieces to one shipping box.
