Vintage LA PIERRE Sterling Silver 8.5" Vase, Embossed Design, Weighted Base

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a beautiful vintage Sterling Silver urn shaped vase made by La Pierre. The vase has a classic urn shaped body with wide outward folded top and weighted pedestal base. The lower body is fluted/paneled with an embossed decorative band around the top. There is a matching embossed design around the top border and in a band around the outside edge of the base. The base is marked with the trademark stamp of the La Pierre Mfg. Co. and "Sterling, 2111, Patented Sep. 13, 1921, Weighted Base". The La Pierre Manufacturing Company had factories in New York NY and Newark, NJ and was founded by Frank H. La Pierre in 1888. The Company became a Division of the International Silver Company in 1921. Measures 8 1/2" high with a top diameter of 5 1/8" and base diameter of 4". Weighs 340 grams. This nice vase is in very good Estate condition although it does have a few very minor issues. The top edge does not appear to be bent on the rim, however, the edge does have a slight wavy appearance when viewing straight on. There is one area on the outside edge of the base that is not perfectly round and a faint crease and one minor dent on the polished area of the silver above the fluted design. All of these flaws are minor and go nearly unnoticed except with close inspection and do not affect the function or beauty of this attractive vase.
