This is because the first leg of the journey (Juneau AK to Seattle WA) is by barge that departs only once per week and takes 6 days to arrive to Seattle. The remainder is by truck. Fed-Ex 2-Day is much faster and they treat their packages better, but it is likely to be more expensive.
