Description: Vintage JAMES W TUFTS BOSTON QUADRUPLE SIVERPLATE 2831 Serving Bowl Basket, This is a pretty little bowl/basket, has a handle and may have had a glass liner at one time?? It looks like it may have been used as a serving bowl, the inside is flat and finish is worn. It is marked on the bottom "JAMES W TUFTS BOSTON QUADRUPLE PLATE" 2831 and under the number is x 367. This should be fromlate 1800s to early 1900's, as James W. Tufts started his business in 1875 in Boston and the company ceased operations by 1915. This is in good condition and plating is nice on the outside. It measures about 5 1/4 wide is about 1 3/4 talland with handle up about 4 1/2 inches tall.
