Description: Vintage Hopi Pendant Petite Sterling Silver Scorpion Overlay Native American This is a fantastic little pendant with what appears to be a stylized scorpion made using a traditional Hopi overlay technique. The pendant is all sterling silver. The oxidized base has been hand textured. The pendant is about 7/8" square. From the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant is 1 1/4". The bail opening is approximately 1/4". It weighs a modest 6.6 g. The artists' hallmark is a set of overlapping "Ds" indicating artisan Hopi couple Bernard and Frances Dallasvuyaoma. Of interest is that Bernard is a nephew of Charles Loloma, who is perhaps the most famous Hopi artist in modern times. Touch of Turquoise invites you to Wear the West!
