He is a bringer of good fortune and wisdom, a remover of obstacles which is called upon at the beginning of a journey or a new venture. This three-headed Hindu Elephant God is the twenty-eighth embodiment among the 32 forms of Lord Ganesha. He is known as Trimukha Ganapati, and his three heads represent creation, preservation, and destruction. He has six arms, with two upper arms holding two goads, a broken tusk in his main right hand for writing the Mahabharata epic, and his favorite sweet laddus in his main left. In his lower right two hands, he holds a mala and an axe. With his rat Mushak by his side, this resplendent six-armed Ganesha evokes the attributes of the god with power and motion. The finely cast solid bronze statue is attributed to the early 1900s. It uses the lost wax casting process, which resulted in a highly detailed original.
