Description: This sale is for a vintage hardcover book titled French Literature by Edward Dowden. It has short histories of the literature of the world, and it was edited by Edmund Gosse. It was published by The Bay View Reading Circle, Central Office, Flint, Michigan and D. Appleton and Company in June of 1897. It is a first edition and is approximately 5 1/4" wide x 7 3/4" high x 1" deep. The book is in good condition as shown in the photographs but has minor foxing, scrapes, discolorations and the binding is bent at both the top and bottom and all corners are bumped, but there is no musty smell. The back cover at the lower left corner is slightly bent and the book is very dusty. It comes from a pet and smoke-free home. Please see my other sales as I will combine shipping when possible.
