Takes 2 AA batteries (not included - on a side note Rayovac batteries do not fit they seem to be a little longer, I used Sunbeam and Dollar tree brand to test) Item works, but it blinks when it wants to, it turns on and gives an inital blink then it waits and then starts blinking randomly.
