Description: Offering an Vintage H. Disston and Sons D8 hand saw with a 13/16 inch "Disston USA" medallion that was used between 1940-1947. It is being sold in as-found condition. Features: Length: 29 inches total, 26 inch skewback blade TPI: 7-1/2. Etching still visible on bladeRivets: 5 Handle: D8 apple "let-in" handle The saw is in great shape, and the blade is straight without any teeth missing. Please note there was a small crack that has been repaired on the handle. The saw has been well-cared for, and you can still see the D8 etching on the blade. It also looks like it could be a "5" instead of an "8", but I can't find if Disston made a D-5. Thus, I am calling it a D-8. It has a five rivet design, and a scrolling pattern in the handle that is very unique for a Disston saw. Has wear to handle and light surface rust commensurate with a handsaw of this age. Looks to be in very good condition, but there are plenty of pictures for you to decide yourself. It would be a great saw to restore. According to the Disstonian Institute website, this medallion was used from 1940-1947. These are my findings, but please do your own research to confirm. The Disstonian Institue is a great resource for that. And if I have anything wrong, please let me know, as I try to do my best to correctly represent what I am selling.
