The pots are lightly glazed on the inside, and have a darker glazed rim on the outside. They are very sturdy. They are each marked "Gres de Gien France" on the bottom (most are unreadable). These wonderful pots are just waiting to bake in! They are also the perfect size for serving chowders and soups, or as a side bowl for individual helpings of coleslaw or chopped salads.
