Description: From a lovely elegant table set, a holiday-ready matching pair of Gorham's c.1940 "Chantilly" lacey-patterned sterling silver candlesticks in warm vintage sterling silver. 4-5/8" in height ("conversation height"), sturdily weighted, these will hold a dinner candle without fear. Gorham manufactured these artisanally in this size before the war and a larger hurricane single and a larger armed candelabra. Synonymous with delicacy, French repousse patterns and a fine table, these have also become collectible opportunities. In very good condition, not over polished. Marked on bottoms model 749 Gorham Sterling, weighted. One finish has someone's silver test in a micro that should buff out, and is already hard to see. We don't change as-found finishes and these have a nice patina (one b/w pic to show details), lovely warmth. Appreciating in collectible value, hard to find in sterling than later postwar plate. Handsome gift, great table accent. These ship from Dallas worldwide; depend on our over 25 years of customer support! Questions welcomed.
