Vintage Eldreth Pottery 1993 Strawberries Crock Blue Salt Glaze Hand Thrown PA

Description: I love pottery. And am blessed to live in an area where pottery flows in from all of the great pottery brands from time to time. Not too mention some stellar antique pieces from forever ago. As a history buff and genealogist, too these pieces of history from family run businesses and artisans just always make me smile, the old antique stuff from the 1700 and 1800's really is exciting, and I've seen a couple pieces but have happened upon any for sale - but hope springs eternally. This piece is vintage from 1993 and is signed and dated and is by Eldreth Pottery located nearby in Pennsylvania. Started in 1972 by David Eldreth and his wife, he crafted pottery on a potter's wheel he Frankensteined from a Dryer. That is pretty darn creative. LOL. Anyway, Eldreth has long been a front runner in the pottery biz and their salt glaze stuff is some of the most popular and beloved. This salt glaze crock is hand thrown and hand painted and features a beautiful strawberries & blossoms design in the cobalt blue on the gray glaze. It is beautiful. Hard to say more than that. It is in great condition (the white in the pic is lighting reflections - fyi). This crock has a very bright blue colbalt design and it is very well done. Lots of details and textures - beautiful work. (I have seen others from later years that look manufactured and the painting is rudimentary and pale blue - not the same quality or a lesser talented artist's work at the factory). This piece is stellar quality. See pictures. A wonderful crock to use as a vase or a container for your utensils in the kitchen or just for decor - and of course, for the pottery collector - this classic Eldreth piece certainly would be a wonderful addition.
