Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID.Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage "E.K. Blessing" brand alto saxophone. This looks to be a stencil of a Buescher Elkhart 20A (*edit: I was informed this is actually a stencil of a Buescher "Windsor"). The serial number is R13980. I'd guess that it dates to the 1950's or thereabouts. This horn is in overall very good playing condition. I won't say that it is in 100% optimum playing condition, because a leak light inspection reveals some minor hairline leaks, but most players will find this more than acceptable (especially for a horn at this price point). Short of doing a full repad, this is about as good as you're likely to find. The pads are in good condition, with soft/supple leather. They are sealing well with a light touch. Physically and cosmetically speaking, this sax is also in overall very good condition. The body is straight, and the neck has not been pulled down. There is a dent on the side of the bow that could probably be pushed out if you so desired, although that isn't really necessary as it does not affect playability in the least. There are a couple spots on the neck where it looks like some small dents were pushed out. To be honest, whoever did this didn't do the best job, as they left the metal a little lumpy. It probably could be improved upon by a more skilled technician, but again, it isn't really affecting playability either. Aside from that, there are maybe a few pings and nicks, but nothing major. The rim of the bell has never been bent. The key-work is operating as it should. All keys are moving freely and rebounding properly when released. The rollers are all turning. The lacquer is almost fully intact, with normal light scratching/scuffing. Overall, this horn looks very good. This horn comes in a vintage gig bag. It actually looks a lot like a "Reunion Blues" brand gig bag, but I don't see any tag on it. It has the same style interior, with the same removable padding section. This bag has a chocolate brown canvas (not leather) exterior with dark blue padded interior. Reunion Blues did indeed make some just like this. This might have been made by them for sale by another brand. Anyway, it is in generally good condition. The only issue is that the zipper for the side pocket is non-functional due to the pull tab breaking off. Aside from that, it shows normal wear from age and has a few loose threads. It is odor free inside. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories with this horn. I will include an end plug though. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks again for looking!
