Description: Please email with any questions. Vintage Donaldson Litho Co No 5786 stock spirit cabinet poster, 20" by 28". Hand lettered in the open space at the top: THE GREAT SMITH (J H SMITH) MASTER MAGICIAN. Smith or someone in his entourage has written in pencil on some of the figures in the poster- the magician has "Mr Smith" written up his shirt, devil in bottom left corner has something written, devil holding the door has writing and the devil over the cabinet has the initials MB on his wing. There is a horizontal area of transferred ink near the bottom of the poster, general toning to the paper, loss to the lower left corner, edge wear, damage across the top edge where someone had applied masking tape that became brittle with time. I put any small loose pieces in a plastic bag , someone should linen back this to preserve it. I think this dates circa 1930-40 and is from a local estate.
