Description: Vintage Czech 1930's Brass Gilt Paste / Rhinestone Handmade Filigree Belt Buckle measuring approximately 3 1/4"W (total for both pieces) x 1 5/8" (individually). Each half of the buckle is a rounded dome with filigree sections separated by the paste stones and a central larger paste stone. All of the stones are prong set. There are two loops on the underside to run a belt through, ribbon, leather, metal, etc. and the buckle closes with a loop and hook style closure. The loops will fit a ribbon / belt of up to 1 3/8 inch or smaller. The ribbon used in the photograph as an example is 1" wide and is not included in this sale. Each piece is marked on the back of each loop "Cechoslovakia" in the American spelling for Czechoslovakia. A wonderful piece of nearly 100 year old history to add to a fine collection of belt buckles and clothing accessories, for display or wear. My father and my husbands father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to their new and future brides upon their return from Europe after WWII. Many of the items have gone to family, but there are still many items that need a home, and they are listed here. There are also other items, long held family treasures that also need to find new homes, as we have no room in ours for them. Many of them have been passed on from generation to generation over 100's of years. We hope they find a home with you.
