Description: Up for sale is this nice Champion ball peen hammer head. This hammer head is about 100 to 1 less produced than the Champion DeArment Ball Peen Hammer. It is also much older. Hammers were first produced in 1914 and the Champion De Arment name was first used in 1925. So this hammer head was produced sometime between 1914 and 1925. The head measures 4 1/2 in. long, the striker is 1 1/2 diameter. It weighs 23 oz. It only lost 1 oz. over all those many years. I cleaned the head and a coating of Fluid Film was applied. Fluid Film is a non-toxic rust and corrosion preventative.
