Description: Here's a big chronograph made by Bulova under the "Caraville New York" brand that looks fantastic. This one was manufactured in the early 2000s, so it is now in "vintage" territory but still has a modern look. It is a working chronograph- the bottom sub dial counts down the elapsed time in seconds, and the upper left subdial counts down the elapsed time in minutes, up to thirty. What originally attracted me to this watch, however, was not the chronograph, but the bold and stark design of the dial - huge white baton index markers which along with the white Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 position and the white pointer hands contrast with the black dial perfectly. This watch is big - 44 mm, (see pic on my smaller-than-average 6.5 inch wrist) but at but at 83 grams is not overly heavy. It has a thick, authentic leather strap with a deep shade of brown that compliments the rest of the watch perfectly. This watch would be great for any collection, or as a "night on the town" watch for personal use. It is being offered here for a great price with free next-day shipping. *************************************************************************Baja Sierra Trading CompanyA new outpost for watch collectors and traders Baja Sierra is working to create a trading outpost that is friendly to watch collectors and other sellers. Make sure you "like" this item if it appeals to you, and consider clicking the "save this seller" heart icon under "seller information" even if this particular watch is not for you. We has all sorts of interesting watches in the pipeline so that will make it easier for you to see those offers. We are far from perfect, but here are the principles we are using to work towards the goal of making these watches available in this market: Vintage & unique watches at affordable prices. Here you will find watches that are unique, interesting, and affordable. Many of these watches are no longer manufactured and could even go up in price. These should be a great addition to any watch collection or for personal use. We want to do our best to make sure the people we trade with get good value from the watches we sell. Complete and accurate descriptions: The descriptions of these watches and their photos are as accurate as we can make them. We want you to know exactly what you are getting so there will be no disappointments and (hopefully) you will be pleasantly surprised when you receive your watch. For some watches, we are even starting to make videos so you can see them from any angle. Full disclosure of the watch condition. Most used watches have "defects" of some kind- and watch collectors know this. Some defects are so small they barely warrant mentioning while others more are more serous, but we will disclose even the minor ones. Sometimes, we will even tell you what we don't like about a watch, though that is highly subjective. Here is the general rating scale we use for the watch condition:Great Condition or "near perfect" - no scratches on the crystal and only miniscule ones anywhere on the rest of the watch.Good condition. no scratches on the crystal but possibly tiny scratches or defects on the case or wristband. Fair condition. the watch is usable but their may be faint scratches on the crystal and case or some issue with the wrist band - or the watch works but one of its functions doesn't work. Poor condition. The watch, even if working, is being sold "as is" for collectors who may need its parts. Low Cost Shipping. We want to encourage watch traders so are doing our best to keep our shipping costs low - never do we "pad" these rates and for many watches we will subsidize them (with the goal of paying about half the shipping costs) and when we can offer free shipping. Paying too much for shipping makes it difficult to profit if you decide to resell an item, and we want to avoid that situation. Fast Shipping. We won't dally with shipping your watch. Once you have bought it, it no longer belongs to us, so we want to get it on its way as quickly as possible. We offer next-day shipping and will ship every day of the week except Sunday. Battery Condition. Some of the quartz watches we are selling were bought at auction or in bulk collections and were already working when we received them. In these cases we usually don't replace the battery but instead disclose this information in the watch condition description. That means there is very slight chance the battery will die in route even though it was working when we shipped it. It is not likely, but it happened once- the buyer was cool about it and even left me a great review but be aware this is a possibility. Worst case, you will have to go to your neighborhood jeweler and pay $10 bucks for a new one, but the watches we sell are well worth it. The watches that weren't working when we bought them are inspected, tested and had a fresh battery installed by a professional jeweler. Returns. Sending an item back that was not what you wanted is a pain for everyone so we have a "no returns" policy. We want to do everything we can to make sure you will never want to return an item which is why we have put these policies in place. At the same time, we definitely don't want you to hate an item you have received from us, and it is always possible a mistake was made on our end. For that reason. we ask that you contact us before writing a review to see if anything can be done - eBay has a number of tools to rectify such situations and if we made mistakes in marketing this item we will accept responsibility. We don't claim to be watch experts - many of those who have bought from us know far more about this industry than we do. For this reason, ,we are happy to develop relationships with other watch collectors. Let us know if you are watch trader or collector also- even if you're just getting started. We get "sellers remorse" all the time here and may end up buying one of our own watches back from you! Please follow this store by clicking the "save seller" link on the Baja Sierra store page. We have some wonderful watches in the pipeline that we will be listing here soon.
