Description: This is a gorgeous dress. Here's the deal: Black is hard for me to photograph. Therefore in many of the photos I did a highlight and it lightens the black and that is not the true color. There is NO discoloration at all. This is solid dark black. I date this to 1940. It could actually be earlier. It is very slightly blouson at the bodice with a very slight drop waist. The back is a v, descending into the waistline. Here is where someone began to deconstruct the garment. Easy to stitch back together. Center front is pleated. Beautiful zippers on the long sleeves, at the wrist. Therefore like the bodice, the sleeves have slight fullness at the top, tapering to tight wrists, with metal zippers.Side waist metal zipper. All zippers work fine.I also added photos of the dress inside-out so that you can see how it was constructed. It looks to have been made by a professional dress maker.Measurements: 30" slightly dropped waist16" shoulder to the dropped waistline 34" bust46" total lengthMy dress form is 34" bust, 28" waist, 35" hips. Fits it well. Please ask any questions! Dress will need cleaning/pressing, and with the "pile" of the velvet, I was unsure how to do this successfully.
