Vintage Barbie: 1974 The Sports Set NEWPORT BARBIE Doll #7807 w/Sailboard + SS+

Description: Gorgeous and very hard to find The Sports Set Newport Barbie #7807 with her hard to find original outfit, very hard to find red & white striped bikini, lilac bubble sunglasses and sail board with original stickers! The doll came to me from her original childhood owner. She's not perfect, but pretty great overall, so please take a look at all of the photos and note the following details:This is a complete set, she's just missing her packaging! Doll, outfit, swimsuit, lilac bubble sunglasses (not pictured, sorry! But they will be included - she still has the string in her head where they used to be attached), and sail board with sail (including the kid-applied original stickers!). Wear to the stickers on the sail. Sail vinyl is a bit wavyNote that the red bleeds in this outfit, including the red thread, red buttons, and red plastic buckle, so washing is not recommended. The trim on her white top was completely faded and I have re-colored it using permanent alcohol marker. White outfit is a bit dingy in places, but overall displays beautifully.Red wedge sandals are marked Korea on the bottom. These are Mattel, but didn't come with this set originally.Normal scratching and wear from play on torso, arms, face.She has the normal melting joint issues that all of these Newport Barbies have, so you'll see a bit of melting at her leg joints, which seem to still be holding (I would still be careful when posing her legs, as we did not remove her legs to check the hip joints). Both shoulder joints have been replaced and she poses well now. (She came to me with her arms broken off; very common in these dolls).Joints feel nice and tight, waist does also (turns, but isn't loose)Some waviness of the vinyl at the hips.No neck splits, nose nips, chew marks or missing hair plugs. No pierced ears.I added some blush to her cheeks (she had some there already, it was just very light), but it is removable with alcohol if you don't like it. I love how it makes her look sun-kissed!Knees bend and click as expected, one is a softer click than the other.Her body and head are both marked Taiwan, which is correct for this doll.Sail board: Sail and board are original. White vertical pole is a painted wooden replacement.Bikini: red has faded a bit, but the suit is in really good condition.
