Description: Here we have a vintage Austro-Asiatic Montagnard Crossbow, from the late 19th to early 20th century, a unique piece of collectible militaria or an aboriginal hunting treasure, used for the procurement of sustenance for the villagers. Its origin is unknown, but it is clear that this crossbow is an original item. The design and craftsmanship of this crossbow are both impressive and plenty collectible. It is a rare find and is in wonderful condition, considering its life and age. However, the trigger piece is no longer here, and the hemp bow-line needs to be remade. Note the beautiful details; including the gorgeous and long arc of the elegant bow member, the beautiful detailing of the two bow-nocks, the rattan basketry detailing as the stop for the through-way in the stock, the simple but charming decorative carving in the stock. A treasure indeed. Bow is 49-1/2" x 21-1/2" x 2" deep. A small packing fee is included in the shipping.
