Description: Vintage 1920's era Atwater Kent Model 37 radio that is in working condition. Radio is able to receive stations on the AM band once the tubes warm up and the sound was good, but on the low side on my Atwater Kent Type E speaker (being sold separately). I am sure with a little work or upgrade of the tubes, the radio will play better. The crinkle paint finish is in very good condition, with minor paint loss along the edges of the bottom and right side. Both knobs turn smoothly and properly. The original cloth power cord is in fair condition, with some frayed sections. I would suggest replacing the cord if the unit is to be used. Interior is very clean with no evidence of rust. Also included is an old business card that was inside the radio from "M.R. Wade - Radio Sales - Service". The shop was located at 88 Appleton St, Boston, Mass. On the reverse of the card, it has the following statement: "We the undersigned guarantee this radio to be in A-1 order. If any part or parts that we have replaced or repaired should show any fault we will replace same free of charge". Morton R. Wade. Dated 2-21-34 to 5-21-34 (which I assume is the warranty period). Great early piece that is a must have for your collection. In order to ensure safe delivery, the radio will be double boxed. Tubes will also be removed, boxed and placed inside the radio. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered.
