Description: This is a RARE fabric muff from the Victorian or Edwardian eras! I don’t know if it is silk or polished cotton. It is very soft. The exterior is brown. The interior is a rich ecru color. Again, not sure of the fabric content. I assume cotton. Each end of the muff has 4 rows of pleats/ruffles that give them body and are so beautiful! One end of the muff has a hole and is exposing the feathers and down that the muff was stuffed. I assume this was for warmth and to give the muff body. The brown fabric is starting to wear thin along the seam. There are a couple of other places here and there. I have indicated on the photos for both issues. This is such a fabulous piece, I wish I could see the ensemble that it want with as I am sure that it was over the top! All measurements are included in the photos.
