Description: Found in a batch of old books at an Estate Sale in Minneapolis, MN. The notebook belonged to Ginger Purser.. Virginia E. Purser who attended the University of Minnesota. There is a copy of an article from the Star Tribune (Minneapolis) dated September 24, 1928 entitled 'U' Sororities Start Rushing Parties Today...noting that Virginia Purser took part in Rushing Week festivities at the UofM. The article was with the material when I purchased so guessing someone before me was researching this woman. Typed notes in the notebook range from civics, bird watching, literature, interregnum/multiplication of effects, definitions...varied and interesting! There are also several written exam papers from 1929 (English Lit - impressive grades) and a paper entitled Report on The Minneapolis Star written by her dated October 28,1928 and another on The Chicago Daily News dated November 26, 1928. Included is an undated actual newspaper clipping of the Cap & Gown Graduation procession at the UofM. Interestingly, the reverse of the clipping is the "society page" news of the area., I've attempted to look up this person and did find a possible link to a Carroll Clarke (possible marriage to him). However, nothing concrete. Thought it would be neat to get these to a family member but didn't have much luck. Maybe you know them?! I found them very interesting to look through... history! Please see pictures for some of what's included and email with any questions. This group is non-returnable given the personal nature and possibility of damage.
