Description: Classic figure by A Santini Pieta sculpture on a marble base from Italy. It is a replica of Michelangelo's Pietà, a renowned sculpture depicting Mary cradling the body of Jesus after the Crucifixion. The original masterpiece resides in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The signature "A. Santini" ( located on the back side) shows that this is a copy made by a well known Italian sculptor Amilcare Santini, known for producing replicas of famous sculptures, The bottom has a foiled sticker that says” sculptor A SANTINTI classic figure made in Italy” This nice piece is 5"x4”x3” , it is in overall good condition for its age, the top is some type of a resin. The bottom is marble There are some imperfections in the resin, I do not believe as damage, but rather than from the production technique itself, there are tiny, perfectly round holes, (2 that I noticed ) please see photos This could use a proper cleaning, there are lots of deep nooks and crannies where dust has settled. I will leave the deep cleaning to the buyer. The marble is in excellent condition. Also, Item will ship at Usps ground advantage.
