Description: Vintage 26" E.C. Atkins Silver SteelNo 54Straight Back Crosscut Hand Saw8 TPI Fresh from a local estate sale. In case you didn't notice, there is a hang hole. The hand opening in the laminated handle is about 4" and is roomy for my XL hands. I have lightly cleaned/inspected it and there are no issues to report. There was a medium amount of surface rust/grime that I Brillo cleaned a bit to review the etch better, but not more than that. And the back got a little less Brillo work, but is just like the front and clean enough to be put into service. Most, if not all, of the color you see in the plate will clean up with some work. That pleasure will be up to the new owner, should they decide to do so. The No.54 is very hard to see, but is to the right of the STRAIGHT in STRAIGHT BACK. Saw is relatively sharp and will cut as is, but it's not "scary sharp", though. The laminated handle is well done and retains most of the original finish, but there's a chip at what I will call the forehead area, see last picture. And please keep in mind, that photo has lots of bright light and is in close-up mode. That's to say, you hardly notice it with the naked eye. I simply want you to know exactly what you're getting.
