I purchased the watch new in 1991; I never opened the case, and never removed watch from case; it still has its original factory installed battery. Please note: the Swatch watches are offered here as collectors items. We sell from our private collection and all were purchased new. After the purchase the watches were stored in a display case and never worn. After 20-35 years both plastic and leather bands may have dried out and become too fragile to wear.
